Cookie Policy
Last updated: August 2026
This page explains the cookies and browser storage FreelancIA uses. We keep this short, because we keep our usage short: FreelancIA doesn't use advertising or analytics trackers of any kind.
1. What we use, and why
- Session cookies (essential): when you sign in, we set secure, httpOnly cookies that keep you signed in as you move between pages. These can't be read by other websites and are only used to authenticate your requests to FreelancIA.
- Local storage (essential): your browser also keeps a local copy of your session token and a couple of small UI flags (like whether you're an admin) so the interface can show the right navigation without an extra round-trip to the server. This stays on your device and isn't sent to anyone but FreelancIA.
Both are required for the app to function — there's no way to use FreelancIA while signed in without them, since that's how we recognize you between page loads.
2. What we don't use
We don't use advertising cookies, third-party analytics/tracking scripts, or cross-site tracking of any kind. The only third parties involved when you use FreelancIA are the ones needed to run the service itself — Paystack for payments, Cloudinary for file uploads, and optionally Google if you choose to sign in with it — each governed by their own privacy practices for the specific action you take with them.
3. Managing storage
You can clear cookies and local storage for FreelancIA at any time through your browser settings; doing so will simply sign you out. Blocking cookies entirely in your browser will prevent you from staying signed in.
4. Changes to this policy
If what we store changes, we'll update this page and the "Last updated" date above.
